Subsidised school travel
School Drive Subsidy
The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
The School Drive Subsidy is available to NSW residents in areas where there is no public transport, to drive an eligible student all or part of the way to school. The subsidy is only intended to partly offset the cost of using a private vehicle to drive the eligible student and is not intended to cover all costs. Transport for NSW administers the School Drive Subsidy scheme.
The subsidy is for driving school students to school or to the nearest transport pick up point, by car, motorcycle or boat.
The School Drive Subsidy scheme replaces the previous Private Vehicle Conveyance (PVC) Subsidy scheme which is being phased out from 20 December 2016. For more information please visit the School Drive Subsidy website School Drive Subsidy
Public Transport
Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.
The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
