High potential and gifted education

At Clarke Road School, we get to know each student and nurture their strengths. ‘Opening New Worlds for Every Student’ is a high priority.

We foster a culture of high expectations and equity in excellence, ensuring every student, no matter their background, has opportunities to develop their potential.

Our school offers a diverse range of opportunities across the 4 domains of potential: creative, intellectual, physical and social-emotional.

Our high potential and gifted education opportunities

Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.

In our classroom
  • We identify students’ learning needs in the classroom and use evidence-informed shared frameworks to challenge and extend students. We provide continuous, meaningful and relevant learning pathways.
  • We recognise that each child and young person learn in different ways and can improve relative to their own capabilities.
  • Every student will actively engage in a range of activities that support them to be further along their ‘Road to Independence’.
  • A calm and responsive learning environment means students are more likely to be ready to engage, learn and achieve their personal best.
Across our school
  • ‘Creating a Voice for every learner’ continues to be an important focus. We want every child and young person to express themselves everywhere with everyone, many times every day.
  • We provide flexible and diverse opportunities for students to explore and grow their strengths across a range of personalised and shared programs.
  • Our school has active links with other nearby schools and local communities.
  • We include parents and carers and community and use their expertise to ensure all students have opportunities to develop their potential.
